3D
This 3D in this movie was gimmicky but enjoyable. Often times you would notice objects flying out of the background and popping out at you and sometimes characters would have guns or other objects pointed and popping out of the screen. I do feel the movie looked sharp and detailed in 3D and had some scenes with floating particle effects that really was fun and enjoyable. Not the best 3D I have seen, but it was enjoyable and looked good.
Final Verdict: GOOD 3D.
Movie
The movie revolves around Mark Wahlberg character Cade Yeager who is designing robots in his barn. He has a daughter named Kessa who will soon graduate from High School and they find a truck that changes everything. Another story in this movie is around the CIA and an evil plot with a transformer bounty hunter. Another plot revolves around a CEO of an evil company that wants to make and program his own transformers. All of these stories connect and are just too much to juggle in one movie. With exception of Mark Wahlberg and his daughter all the characters are fairly generic, basic and only have one note. The CEO of the company does his impression of Robert Downey jr and its pretty bad. I did enjoy the action scenes and overall pacing is entertaining but it never attempts to be anything more than a loud fun action movie. At times the movie is much darker in tone and this aspect actually fits the movie well. One aspect that does not fit is the cursing in this movie that generally is aimed for children. Some of the humor works and other times it fails terribly and overall the dialog is forgettable and generic. Often the story elements would fall together in very convenient times and cause huge plot holes and inconsistencies. Overall I did find the action and story entertaining but the movie was far from great.
Final Verdict: 6 / 10
