3D And 2D Releases for February 2022
February is a month for lovers and sadly we don’t love this month. February has no confirmed 3D theatrical releases but it has many noteworthy 2D releases and even some 3D Blu-rays. I’m feeling especially snarky this month so I added ‘ Editor’s Thoughts ‘ to the bottom of the previews. I hope that you find these comments amusing.

Noteworthy 2D Movies
Jackass Fore❤️er
Information:
Celebrating the joy of being back together with your best friends and a perfectly executed shot to the dingdong, the original jackass crew return for another round of hilarious, wildly absurd, and often dangerous displays of comedy with a little help from some exciting new cast. Johnny and the team push the envelope even further on February 4 in jackass forever.
Editors Thoughts:
This is not a “real movie” but it is entertaining to watch these wild Jackass skits. Sadly unlike the third movie which was released in 3D this forth Jackass movie is not available in 3D. I do give these people credit for risking their lives for laughs. Don’t try this at home!
Moon Fall
Information:
In Moonfall, a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact and the world on the brink of annihilation, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler (Academy Award® winner Halle Berry) is convinced she has the key to saving us all – but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson, “Midway”) and a conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman (John Bradley, “Game of Thrones”) believes her. These unlikely heroes will mount an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love, only to find out that our Moon is not what we think it is.
Editors Thoughts:
It’s very sad that Moon Fall is not releasing in 3D. This is exactly the kind of movie that would benefit from 3D. Moon Fall is a dumb fun space action movie and it could look fantastic in 3D. Maybe this will get a limited 3D theatrical release in China.
Death on The Nile
Release Date:
February 11

Trailer:
Information:
Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short. Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement. “Death on the Nile” reunites the filmmaking team behind 2017’s global hit “Murder on the Orient Express,” and stars five-time Academy Award® nominee Kenneth Branagh as the iconic detective Hercule Poirot. He is joined by an all-star cast of suspects, including: Tom Bateman, four-time Oscar® nominee Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders and Letitia Wright. “Death on the Nile” is written by Michael Green, adapted from Christie’s novel, and is produced by Kenneth Branagh, p.g.a., Judy Hofflund, p.g.a., Ridley Scott, Mark Gordon, Simon Kinberg and Kevin J. Walsh, with Matthew Jenkins, James Prichard and Matthew Prichard serving as executive producers.
Editors Thoughts:
Murder on the Orient Express (2017) was a really fun movie. This sequel looks good too.
Uncharted
Information:
Street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan and lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada. What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother...but only if they can learn to work together.
Editors Thoughts:
Sony has a good track record of releasing its big name movies in 3D. Uncharted is a huge PlayStation video game franchise from Naughty Dog. Action movies like this have lots of potential to look wonderful in 3D. It is very sad that this video game inspired movie will not release in 3D. The third Uncharted game (Drake’s Deception) on Playstation 3 even released with a 3D option so it’s especially sad that this Uncharted movie won’t be released in 3D.
Cyrano
Information:
Award-winning director Joe Wright envelops moviegoers in a symphony of emotions with music, romance, and beauty in Cyrano, re-imagining the timeless tale of a heartbreaking love triangle. A man ahead of his time, Cyrano de Bergerac (played by Peter Dinklage) dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his appearance renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne (Haley Bennett), Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her — and Roxanne has fallen in love, at first sight, with Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.).
Editors Thoughts:
Peter Dinklage is a fantastic actor and this movie looks fabulous.
Studio 666
Information:
In STUDIO 666, the legendary rock band Foo Fighters move into an Encino mansion steeped in grisly rock and roll history to record their much anticipated 10th album. Once in the house, Dave Grohl finds himself grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band.
Editors Thoughts:
I love the Foo Fighters but damn this looks like hot garbage. That being said this movie would benefit from 3D.

Editors Thoughts:
I watched about half of it and got bored and stopped watching. I watched it in 2D so maybe in 3D it’s more interesting. I love Arnold Schwarzenegger but it was a poor choice for him to narrate this movie.
