Black Widow 3D Movie Review

Black Widow is a very enjoyable movie to watch in 3D. This movie has lots of 3D depth with plenty of pop outs. Highlights of pop outs include: a sniper rifle, several climbing scenes, a thrilling airstrip scene, and a climatic explosion. It’s well worth shelling out the extra money for the 3D Black Widow’s experience.
Final Verdict:Great 3D
Movie
Black Widow is Marvel's first movie in nearly two years. And this espionage thriller/family drama packs a wallop.
The action in Black Widow delivers and the family drama adds depth to the characters. Unfortunately, the actual story doesn't quite deliver. It doesn't help that the actual story is shoehorned between the events of two other Marvel movies: Captain America Civil War and Avengers Infinity War. The movie also has some scenes that take place in the 1990s. It can be a little hard to follow what’s going on without more direct references or actual scenes from the other films to jog the memories from years past. It’s hard to explain without spoilers but this movie is both self contained and isn’t entirely self contained. There are many surprises in the film. I am sure that one surprise, will offend the comic book purist. To them, I say, get over yourselves. The change works within this film and there is no reason there can't be another more comic book accurate version of the character down the line. Scarlett Johansson shines (as per usual) as the Natasha Romanoff the Black Widow. Florence Pugh (Midsommar) shines as Yelena Belova the ‘sister’ character. David Harbour (Stranger Things) is laugh out loud funny as the Crimson Dynamo, excuse me, The Red Guardian the ‘father’ character. And Rachel Weisz (The Mummy [2017]) as Melina the ‘mother’ figure. This makeshift family of spies has a great character arc that propels the plot along. I really liked all the new characters this movie introduces. The action scenes are well done especially the last scene. I wish the plot was a little stronger but overall this movie has it all.
In closing Black Widow is a very enjoyable movie yet I left the cinema wanting a little more. I definitely recommend watching Black Widow in the theatre and in 3D.
Final Verdict: 8/10
