3D
The 3D is just an afterthought for this movie. The film obviously wasn't filmed for a 3D conversion in mind, too many shallow focused and dark scenes with too many close ups. About two minutes, of a moment here and a moment there, actually have the wow factor that great 3D should have; but it's simply too little to justify the expense. A real pity, shot for 3D, a conversion of this film could have been absolutely stunning.
Final Verdict: Weak 3D 2D Recommended

A Wrinkle In Time is based on the 1962 novel, of the same name, by Madeleine L'Engle. Director Ava DuVernay, armed with a 100 million dollar (US) budget, swung for the fences but sadly hit a double. It's the story of Meg (Storm Reid), Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe), their friend, Calvin (Levi Miller) and their adventures traveling the universe looking for Meg's and Charles' father, Mr. Murry, who has been missing for four years. The kids get support for their quest from three unusual beings, Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon), Mrs. Who (Mindly Kaling), and Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey).
The film looks absolutely beautiful, The characters and costumes look stunning, and the story has its heart in the right place. Unfortunately, the story suffers from too much exposition and not enough action. In other words, the characters tell us when the story should show us. The movie feels like an extravagant Disney Junior television show.
Final Verdict: 5/10
