Will Lightyear release in 3D ? - Updated

Yes (with a caveat). The last few Pixar animated movies were released directly to Disney Plus ( Soul, Luca ). Before 2020 the last few Pixar animated movies ( Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2 ) were released in 3D. Currently we don’t even know if Lightyear will get a theatrical release at all. The 2022 Pixar movie Turning Red is not getting a theatrical release and it will go directly to Disney Plus. Other Disney animated movies released recently were released in 3D ( Encanto and Raya the Last Dragon ). Currently in the REALD website it has Lightyear in the upcoming movies section. If Lightyear skips theaters we might not know until closer its release it just depends on several factors. In closing if Lightyear gets a theatrical release then it will release in 3D.
